thats disgusting i have changed most of my monety to lira already, (i dont go til 31st aug) i have another 300 i was gonna leave it but might change it here ya know then its all done and ready to go... saves getting ripped of.

and when you say opp point centre, do you mean the one near tasty bites? we got ripped off badly there last year, my mam went down with some of her money, and i gave her some of mine to save me going and he had about £30 from us!! rip off. that was the only time we changed it there as i know its meant to be illegal but was getting a fair exchange from people we know in restaurants. was easier and they didnt take anything off us.

Know what you mean about getting ripped off! yesterday I changed money 2 times the 1st the guy tried to rip me off and I argued the point with him he gave in and then said that I should come back to him in future cos he knows me now! then 2nd time I went different place only cos I wasn't near the 1st guy and they tried to rip me off big time! I was ment to get 510 TL but the were offering me 455 told them where to go! The said that it was government tax bit strange cos I'm sure tourists don't have to pay government tax! they also said that if you changed 300 or more you don't have to pay it safe to say I went elsewhere!
I find that the bars and restaurants give a better rate and don't try cheat you either! also if you get a Turkish person to change the money you get a better rate too!

No we've already been ripped off from that one in the past. This one was on other side of main road. Standing at the door you're lookin directly at doors of point centre

the local shop i went to oppostie my hotel gave me 2.55 exchange rate all the time, they have never lied or cheated me since i first exchanged money there 4 years ago, also restaurants i go to regular they dont rip you off either. i would never trust any of the exchange offices only the people i know and trust at hotel, shop and local restaurants!
