Marmaris is not even close to being destroyed.
Sure Long beach won't have clubs open till 4 am,but Barstreet will.
The clubs on long beach will now be funpubs (if rebuild) insted, where you can kickstart your evenings.

And why he destroyed the clubs was cuz they weren't built on land that belonged to them,to keep all the madness in one place,to make a better scene for family and richer people down beach since he's gonna build hotels and apartments down there.

And sure it's really sad for us who used to love partying down at beach front, but can you imagine how the turkish people living along long beach must feel 6 months of the year with all the music and drunk people screaming through the nights?

I have not been to Marmaris for 4 years, but I knew then that the mayor didn't like the bars on the beach then.

He owns clubs in barstreet and also restaurants in the marina, so it benefits him financially if all of the tourists head to that end of the beach.

I knew a bar owner from one of the bars and he did own the land his bar was built on yet it has still been destroyed.

The excuse the mayor used was that all of the bars needed to move 20 feet back, and he gave the a couple of years to do this. None of them did.

I don't think many believed he would actually do it until the bulldozers turned up.

Barstreet is extremely expensive so don't think i will be going back, might as well go somewhere nicer now it is not going to be a cheap holiday.

If you put on youtube, long beach marmaris it shows you the video's.... im gutted about it all of the bars have goe apart form bar street and apparently Talk of the town!
Marmaris is going to lose so many tourists because of this- Bar street is way too dangerous, there is too much violance &+ for people like me that go with family, the beach front was a great place to go, we loved the blackpool bar + spent alot of our time down there this year,....but because these bars are gone- i dont think i will be returning.

It used to be beautiful + when my family saw this video our hearts sank! I just ope that when the rebulid is finished it hasnt changed too much, if it does-- many people will stop visiting marmaris!
    Which is a shame! :(

This was Sent to me from a group that i have joined on facebook. I had travelled with the woman who owns it on the 28th december- 11th january. Carolann seems to know alot about it and had wrote me mail saying this.

dear member, i am just back in scotland after spending new year in marmaris. i have taken photographs and the only confirmation of rebuilding i have is BARAN bar which will be a lot smaller! i have tried many times to set up a meeting with Mr Acar but to no avail.......... i have just emailed his office AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!! never actually had him down or any turkish person for that matter as being ignorant but it is clear that he thinks by ignoring me that i might get fed up and give up??
well sorry i am scottish and those who know me know i don't give up and always finish what i start♥ i will post recent photographs of the long beach a.s.a.p and will personally take photographs on a monthly basis. please keep posting your comments and keep inviting your friends to join♥ HAPPY 2010 to all of you and let's hope that the long beach is restored eventually to it's former glory that we all love ♥

people are saying on other sites places will be rebuilt before the start of the season i dont think that will be the case as there is not really alot of time and people are not gonna have a good experiance with work going on while there there .
